45 years ago, Virginia "Ginger" Rich Barnett dropped by my Showroom with a small bag of miscellaneous 'Parts'....single earrings, damaged jewelry and bits and pieces of old 'findings'.......I took a 'single' Portuguese garnet and gold earring to a goldsmith to have an antique 'bale' added; then, Jennifer Chang strung the pearls, some antique hand-made gold beads and an old Victorian clasp together to make a beautiful Necklace........35 years later, the knotted silk cord had, eventually, been 'cut through' by the sharp edges of the beads.......The broken 'parts' sat in a box for a few years.......Last month, I handed the box to a friend who does 're-stringing'....and, a couple of days later.......the Necklace is, again, ready to wear.....
