very favorite male skaters that have become Show skaters.....
SUBJECTIVITY, SNOBBISHNESS, ACQUISIVITY AND ROBERT THWAITES
What do Clifford Irving, Robert Thwaites, Elmyr de Hory, even John Anster Fitzgerald, the painter of the work above (which is, itself, derivative of the works of Bosch, Van Eyck........even Richard Dadd, who was practically his contemporaty.....and which is a copy, not even painted by Fitzgerald) have in common? I've already said it, haven't I? I actually find it very amusing when snobbish collectors and art dealers outbid opponents, to the the tune of a million bucks, to acquire forged paintings......or when Sotheby's roadshow "experts" praise a "monumental work of art", only to discover that the work was done by a housewife working in her car port studio in Hoboken........ Know of Rosemary Brown, the "great pianist and composer"? I have her recordings, which I frequently play....and enjoy very much, as well as her total bullshit narratives about her psychic work! A friend of mine has a "Jackson Pollock" painting that some drunken friends and I painted in 1965.......The painting is, of course, not very good......not only were we.....as a group.....not only not half as talented as Pollock.....but the painting doesn't even come close! Nevertheless, those who think the work "great"......think only so because of their associations about it........ Anyone want a painting of a sardine can......for a cool million? It has a barely legible signature....something like "'..hola...for my mom'...1961".....
