Ivan Ilić

Protege of François-René Duchâble, Serbian-born American Ivan is emerging from obscurity to become a thinking man's musician and interpreter of refined subtlety.

GLITZY PARAPHENALIA

This gold "canister" from Davidoff's was used to transport a single "joint" in glamorous and preservative style...back in the 70's.....When the little rubber ring that keeps the thing airtight was somehow lost, I tossed it in a "fix it" drawer..... Quite by good fortune, I dropped an "O" ring from an old defective sprinkler head that Steven had removed from the 'misting system' and, picking it up from the kitchen floor, discovered that it was exactly like the original rubber ring from this canister. It now holds a stick of the rarest cinnamon thai stick that I use to stir my morning cup of Joe.

RECONSIDERATION

I acquired this large carved stone work years ago with the purpose of installing a light bulb, thus converting it into yet another source of faint illumination; however, this was hardly aesthetic because the stone had been "cooked" with red pigment and I found this effect very unappealing. So, the thing was banished to a corner of a storage room, atop an also-abandoned Chinese heater. Going trough the room, years later, I found the carving far less offensive and moved it into a sun room, where it is surprisingly at home.
