In 1951, I began my collection of "shooter" marbles or "toys".....originally, these were the 1 1/2" marbles used to break the pack and win the smaller marbles. Players placed their marbles incollective within a circle drawn on the earth, then proceeded to "pick out" and move their opponents marbles, hitting them out of the circle with their "toys".
these are marbles i wouldn't want to lose....designer marbles by such artists as hottie,Filip Vogelpohl, and Cathy Richardson, who created this starfish.
