BRONZE AND IVORY SNAKE DANCER BY PROFESSOR OTTO POERTZEL

Posted by Picasa
In 1974 I went to an Antique Show at Lenox Square in Atlanta, and came across this beautiful and decorative sculpture and maxed out my VisaCard for $1800 to bring it home.......a couple of months later, teased by friends for my impulsive squandering of limited resources, I "unloaded" the sculpture to a well-heeled friend for a hundred dollar profit.....Over the years, I have frequently thought about the piece and have even acquired compensatory sculptures to assuage my aesthetic loss.....I finally decided to look around for the Bronze and actually located the same one that I had sold over 35 years ago.......The current owner agreed that he would sell the piece to me for $18,000!....... Oh, well......I guess not!.......I've always thought that Art was the best investment and a lot more enjoyable than Coca Cola stock..........

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT

sorry about the ads.....but that's the price of using high-quality embeds, I reckon.

. Lauren stepped to the plate last night with this Tango....judges were pleased that she assumed the traditional passive "woman dancer" role....[which, I will comment that both Robert and Kent would have loved too!].....dancing with hot ballroom champion, sexy Pasha.......Whew!.......I don't think Lauren will win, as tens of millions of young girls (and boys) have crushes on Kent......who is, coincidentally, my prediction to win.......Handsome as Robert Taylor, Robert's maturity will be largely overlooked by viewers who are more the mindset of Kent......For me, it doesn't matter who of the three finalists win.....for they are all talented beyond any of my original expectations.........I'm still, till the last....in favor of a Triumvirate.......
