Cactus Towers

This Cactus began as an $.89 plant from Home Depot, 25 years ago. Since it is now immense and heavy, I have placed an archaic Chinese Stone Carving in its pot to counter-balance its weight and prevent toppling. Now a magnificent Specimen, so alien in the context of it's otherworldly counterweight, it finally has a "place" in my indoor garden....

Styilized Creatures, carved in Stone

I collected these small carvings for many years and am now considering practical applications for them as bonsai decorations, pendants and as small sculptures to be mounted on bases.......For now, however, they reside in drawers with netsuke and other small treasures of the carvers' art..........These two are Longshan Culture, a type that I have always had great interest in.......
