FEATHERED SERPENT FLUTE

Posted by Picasa
this trippy artifact is both a pipe for smoking and an eerie clay flute.

HILL'S PAINTING THAT ARRIVED TODAY.....

is resting in the shaded sun room, from it's journey, rolled in a cardboard tube and still retaining that shape......it is very disturbing to me.....i think the painter was very disturbed when he created it....like a small child is frightened by a "hand-shadow-puppet"......

CLAY POT WITH STRING BEANS

this hand-constructed clay pot is absolutely brimming with plants which will, inevitably, crack the pot open......it was a gift from Brenda Lilly, many years ago.......I have another pottery pot that, because the top curves inward, will also crack.....however, the plant, a gift from John Herrmann, over 30 years ago...seems to thrive, even though the pot now lies on its side to avoid toppling over........

the straw orb box

was once a container for a 12' silver snake.....as a child i loved to uncoil the silver serpent, then carefully recoil it into it's woven straw orb.....20 years ago, i sold the necklace but refused to release the box......today, the box houses a Victorian gold snake necklace with cobalt enamelled head and tail, paved with diamonds....
