i've always looked through stuff.......as a youth I collected these rocks and mineral specimens.....usually little more than rubble, and have decorated flower pots, utilizing the ugliest rocks for drainage...and a source of minerals for the plants to be added; in elementary school, making jewelry with findings from the dime stores....Woolworth's actually sold gold and silver-toned findings for this purpose in the mid-fifties...; in my teens, mounting rocks in slabs of plaster of Paris; in my 20's, Robert Fox and I completely covered his bathroom with "gems" set in some new poly-resin compound with niches for ferns and bromeliads; a career selling gems; and now, engaging in nostalgia about it all....
