When I was 15, I met Liberace at The Parkway Country Club, in Huntsville, Al.....His fingers were loaded with big, garishly ugly rings......My parents, expectedly, told me that wearing more than one ring per hand was tasteless and tacky......Now, of course, I don't give a fig what anyone thinks about 'jewelry propriety'.....or 'conventional tastes'.....My only 'issue' with Liberace's jewelry was that it was sooooooo ugly! Lots of arpeggios.....and strong fingers......My then piano teacher, Veda Kranert, refused to be seen with him......thinking him just a 'flash in the pan'......I'm thinkin'..... does anyone remember Veda Kranert? .....
