LADIES FREE SKATE

I have no doubts about Yu-Na Kim's receiving the Gold, for there is no one in competitive amateur skating whose talents and skills can challenge this Audrey Hepburn of Skating. Rachel Flatt will rise to the occasion, as usual, with her beautiful program which has not yet been disclosed....it will be doubtlessly exquisite....... My eyes will be on the other American challenger, however........Nagasu, who also has that Yu-Na style which is sooooooo georgeous AND technical......She's still too green, though, and the judges will be looking for a young Queen, not a Princess in this year of women skaters who can do it all! 4th for her, if she doesn't have an awkward fall.....So....that brings Miki Ando to mind, of course.....she's sensitive, but her lack of fluidity is off-putting to me and I have come to expect hesitant, wooden, and contrived performances from her......She will certainly do her Egyptian number....pun intended.....Nagasu could take Bronze from Ando's hopes for Gold, but that's not likely......Flatt and Nagusu are still young........next Olympics, however......they'll step up, I believe. I've a great fondness for seeming shy Mao Asada, but she will definitely be nervous about losing honor to a Korean....which she WILL do, of course. I hope that she doesn't commit hari kari when she receives only Silver or appear a spoil sport, both angry and dejected! Joannie Rochette is the sentimental favorite, and I love her athleticism and detailed work, but her best achievement could only be Bronze...if her nerves hold up in the wake of her Mother's very recent death.....tonight will tell us no surprises.
