I acquired this large carved stone work years ago with the purpose of installing a light bulb, thus converting it into yet another source of faint illumination; however, this was hardly aesthetic because the stone had been "cooked" with red pigment and I found this effect very unappealing. So, the thing was banished to a corner of a storage room, atop an also-abandoned Chinese heater. Going trough the room, years later, I found the carving far less offensive and moved it into a sun room, where it is surprisingly at home.
