I've never considered this large, Roseville early 'Cornelian' Vase important enough to 'stand alone'.....so, it's in the 'toilet' with a bunch of fancy French silk flowers.....Six years ago, I offered to sell this vase to a 'thrift store shopper' friend....for $200...(before I viewed a far less attractive vase from the same maker, which sold, at auction, for $1815! ). My Thrifter Friend "offered' $150 for the Vase, replying that it wasn't worth any more than that!.....Later, after...I'm sure.....viewing the 'auction results', he offered me $1000 for the Vase. I declined his offer, and the Vase remains in the bathroom....a lovely view from the toilet seat.....Sorta funny...that his was the 'high paddle' for the 'less blushier' Lot #114, that Jan. 23, 2021!

These 'water bears' survive by entering a cryptobiotic state ("tun"), where they dehydrate, pause metabolism, and repair DNA, as they have for 500 million years, allowing them to even withstand 10 days of space vacuum exposure and, in some cases, reproduce upon returning to Earth.
Milnesium tardigradum was voted the winner of The Guardian's "2025 invertebrate of the year" competition
