1st daffodils of spring

  have sprung from the still-cold earth. I notice the unusually strong, musky fragrance of these early arrivers whose central yellow vase is more "creped" than in past springs........their reproductive parts are still tightly clustered, only beginning to unfurl to cast yellow dust and ooze sticky goo to the tabletop.
