THE PANCHATANTRA
Helen Deasy's been sending emails, asking that I attend her "rags & bits" sales at her warehouse, so Hobie and I stopped by to pour over all the odds and ends from estates....the stuff that no one would buy at any price......Hobie found some lovely Liberty of London styled sheets, pillowcases, comforter and side pillows on a bed that was for sale, asked Helen if she would sell them, and took them home for $25......Not wanting to go home "empty-handed", on general principals, I dug up a splendid 1972, boxed edition, translated from the Sanscrit by Arthur W. Ryder and illustrated by Y.G. Srimati..... a quote:
"Better with the Learne'd dwell,
Even though it be in hell,
Than with vulgar spirits roam
Palaces that gods call home...."
pragmatic sensualist, motivated by really deep instincts, actualized by willful imaginings and perpetuated by other's desires. Abstract, yet clear in purpose, honest, but abstruse, my moods change like winds and water with my confidences, and when ungrounded, i am both guarded and vulnerable, leaning, in darkness, to the Light, nurtured by instinctual feelings arising from a deep gene pool.
