a 'Garuda' ring, carved from pure gold and set with a beautiful ruby....a gift from the King of Siam to Yul Brynner, in the mid 1950's.....I acquired it in the mid 1980's......from Atlanta Auctioneer, Bernie Bryan....

The sets and costumes in The King And I 'looked' even better than 'the real thing' a century before......King Vajiravudh - King Rama VI....the 'model' for Brynner's character in the Movie, was fond of giving Jewelry as a token of his admiration....... Nadia Yerusalimsky, the Russian dancer, was a recipient of some of the 'Royal Jewelry tokens'..... I think, if my memory serves me properly, Bernie was consigned the ring, along with some 'set pieces' and 'props' from 20th Century Fox & MGM......I still have some of the Art Deco 'pieces' from an old Fred Astaire movie......also, from Bernie....purchased, via his Auctions at The R.L. Hope School, during the mid 1970's....
