THOUGHTS ON BEAUTIFUL FABRICS AND CARPETS BY JACK LERNOR LARSEN.....AFTER WALKING ACROSS THE BEIGE-BORING CARPETING OUTSIDE SYMPHONY HALL.........AND, RELECTING ON THE SUNROOM OF MY FIRST RESIDENCE IN ATLANTA.......

morning 'organizational exercises'.....going through 35mm contact strips from a Patterson b/w Negative File c. 1970.....I came across the only photo that I have of the lined-and-insulated "Jack Lernor Larsen Velvet Curtains" that I designed from 55 Yards of Larsen's silk velvet material, left from an abandoned project of The High Museum [that chose to have Larsen design the gigantic carpets for the Atrium outside Symphony Hall & Memorial Arts Theater, but declined the 'too busy' curtain fabric, choosing monochrome fabric]......The fabric was 'billed' at several thousands of $$, yet I purchased the rejected 'sample'....still on a huge 'bolt' .....for pennies on the dollar; and one of my housemates sewed the heavy curtains with a surplus industrial sewing machine.....the Curtain was designed to totally block the hot afternoon summer sun from fading the Artwork and furnishings in the 'Garden Room' at 305 Peachtree Ave., my first 'home' in Atlanta.....Here, seated before the completed 'curtain project'....is Ron Underwood, hairstylist at The Both Of Us Salon...just a block away....... Ron  was a housemate for a while, until he ran off with Jack The Giant's 8 1/2' wide Communal/Orgy bed!
