WHEN TO STOP POLISHING??

I took this pot and the rest of the silver 'service' out of storage...recently.    It was in a very blackish tarnished state.   So, I got out some silver polish and began the stages of restoring it to its best aesthetic state; stopping, at this point...as pictured.....concerned that if 'overpolished' all the intricate steel-tool engraving would be lacking in contrast, however.       Currently, there appears to be thousands of 'black dots' over the surface....which are pointed tool indentations, filled with black tarnish....  Hmmm.....what should I do next?   I scrubbed the silver with a stiff toothbrush and powdered kitchen cleanser; yet, the stubborn black tarnish persists......I will, likely, have to do some 'deeper cleaning', leaving the Set a bit more polished than I'd prefer....then, wait...until some depth to the elaborate engraving appears......What a workout!.......   I think I'll 'take a vote' from friends to get a concensus on the restoration techniques that I should utilize....
