another lacquered box....a newer one, full of 'found feathers'....that 'paints' the story of Ivan Tsarevitch, the King's youngest son, who...seeking the reward of half his father's Kingdom.....for capturing the Firebird that had been making off with one of the King's golden apples each night......and, deep into the 'Story'......a wolf kills and devours Ivan's horse, but offers to allow Ivan to ride him.....and on and on....the Fantasy Fable goes.......until, eventually.....well, does this really matter...any more than other Tales of Imaginary History?..... Fortunately, Igor Stravinsky was inspired by this Story...enough to create another of his great Masterpieces, THE FIREBIRD......which I first heard, as a 12-year old, in the remastered 1940 Disney Movie, FANTASIA, and again, when it was 'digitally' resurrected by Disney in 2000 ..........
